Marine & Reel is a dedicated organization within Colony Cove that works hard to support and enhance our community. Every Thursday morning, we host a volunteer work party to tackle various maintenance and improvement projects—and everyone is welcome to lend a hand!

Over the years, our volunteers have contributed thousands of hours, helping to save the community a significant amount of money.  In addition to our hands-on work, we collect and sell scrap steel and aluminum, as well as resalable furniture and other items donated by residents.  These treasures are sold at our annual Flea Market each February—a popular event that helps fund our efforts.

Our responsibilities include managing and maintaining the storage compound and dock areas, as well as organizing a variety of events throughout the year such as boat rides, barbecues, dances, and holiday dinners.

Thanks to strong community support—including help from the Social Association and the Co-Op—we’ve been able to accomplish a lot in recent years.  Some highlights include:

Two new pool tables

New benches at the shuffleboard courts

Picnic tables in the Grove

Wheelchair-accessible paths to benches throughout the park

A bocce court and basketball hoop

New sheds in the Grove and Compound

Two tractors to assist with boat handling and resident needs

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved, and we’re always looking for more friendly faces to join the fun. Whether you have skills to share or just want to help out, there’s a place for you at Marine & Reel.

Come join us and be part of something great!
